Robotic Mower Safety Features
Protect Your Crew. Protect Your Bottom Line.
Commercial landscaping companies and public works agencies like yours need fast, efficient, tough grounds maintenance solutions. But your crew’s safety is non-negotiable. Jobsite safety isn’t just smart — it’s required by OSHA, and it protects both your people and your profits. Fines, penalties, workers’ compensation claims, and employee lawsuits are expensive.
In other words, safety protects your bottom line. Robotic mowers are a safe way to boost your productivity, and every RC Mowers machine is engineered with safety at its core.
Cut Grass, Not Corners
Here in Wisconsin, we’re serious about safety (and seriously good at it).
Let Our Autonomous Mowing Robots Do the Work
Our Autonomous Mowing Robots™ contain our most advanced safety features and a complete Safety Interlock System that monitors the entire machine’s safety suite. They also employ LiDAR technology — the same systems used in military devices and vehicles. Sensors enable full 360-degree visibility and detection for objects basketball-sized or larger. The equipment automatically stops if approached to avoid a collision and won’t resume until objects are no longer in the mowing path.
Additional safety features of these autonomous mowers include:
- On-machine emergency stop buttons and Remote Stop, a handheld unit that shuts down all machines with one push of the button
- Geofencing technology that permits autonomous operation only within the specified boundary
- Operator authentication requirements for autonomous performance
- Seat sensors that disengage autonomous mowing when occupied by a user
- Machine status lights visible in bright conditions
- Environmental lighting for extra visibility
Get a Grip on Safety With Remote Operation
The R Series Remote-Operated Robotic Mowers make the most of safety by taking your crews off conventional riding mowers that are prone to tip-overs and keeping them on flat terrain. One team member and one joystick controller remain up to 1,000 feet away. Your crews stay out of the dense brush and avoid navigating tricky slopes with string trimmers — these bad boys tackle slopes up to 50 degrees with no winch required and no one in harm’s way.
The remote contains anti-tilt-and-drop sensors, so the machines automatically shut down if the controller isn’t safe and sound in the operator’s hands. This equipment also contains an emergency shut-down button, precision camera, and horn alert system for added peace of mind. Light kits are optional for extra visibility in low-light operating conditions.
